Spanish-American War

This Political Cartoon is on the spainish American war. In the picture it shows dogs with Army and Navy written on them chasing after a man with a hat with spain on it. this cartoonist message is against the well being of imperialism. You can tell that they are against the war and imperialismbecause there is no kindness or explination why mckinley is doing this but instead it shows him just cutting the dogs loose. This cartoon can be interpreted as spain deserving the dogs chasing after him. In this cartoon labeling and symbolism. The dogs and the hat are both labelng and symbolism they are in fact labeled what they are suppose to repersent or symbolise. This cartoon also contains an analogy; the cartoonist seems to have compared the united states army to a wild dog. this work is allied with my position on imperialism.
